Release of The Turned

My novel, The Turned, is officially up on Amazon for purchase. I'm getting great feedback so far and am thoroughly pleased that readers are enjoying it! I've heard there were a few typos, which I'm working on getting fixed.

The novel is only $2.99 and I'm currently working on a few promotions that will allow readers to download it for free! :D Below is a little blurb about the novel, but don't worry, no spoilers! I want you to be as surprised as the main characters when things really heat up below the ocean...

Synopsis:
"Thomas Winters, world-renowned marine biologist, disappeared on a life changing expedition that he told no one about. With Thomas presumed dead, the Winters family struggled to go on living.

Ten years later, his daughter, Lana, receives a birthday present in the mail -- her father's lost logbook. After years of searching and finding nothing, could this logbook be the key to her father's whereabouts?

Determined to rescue her father, Lana attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding his disappearance. Where it will lead her, Lana will never expect.

All she knows is that her father is alive, and she won't stop until she finds him. "

Falling further away from the Apple tree?

Will Kindle create a fire underneath the apple tree large enough to send potential buyers to Amazon? With a tablet priced at $199 and a release date of November 15th (just in time for Christmas shopping), it looks like Amazon will come out ahead of the tablet market.

Perfectly priced for aiming at parents, the Kindle Fire is reasonably priced for children focused gifts. Not to mention the games, books, and learning tools the Fire is supposed to have. Touch screen, USB ports, books, mags, music all are included in Kindle's first tablet. Although, it does lack some things that the I Pad brags of having - cameras, etc.

For a person that was intrigued at the I Pad 3, the Kindle Fire has me impatiently waiting for reviews to come out after the release, as I walk a little further away from the Apple Tree. :)

Check it out here, on Amazon. :D

New Nook Released

It was brought to my attention today that Barnes and Noble has come out with a new and improved Nook in order to compete with Kindle. It it supposed to be lighter, faster at loading the electronic ink, have a touch screen, a battery life of 2 months, and have access to over one million books. WOW.

This is going to be a really tough competitor for the Kindle. For people who haven't invested in an e-reader yet, this one will be the one to get! (I'd get it if I didn't already have a Kindle) But in my opinion, I've had my Kindle since February and I absolutely love it. I've had no problems with it, at all. The battery lasts a month, the loading isn't slow by any means, and books that one can access is more than enough.

I feel that Amazon got it right the first time, unlike the Nook. While the Kindle has been enhancing their already-great attributes, the Nook has been re-vamping theirs in order to be better than the Kindle. I'd have to say, let's wait and see what Amazon comes out with in the Kindle 4 before we all become nook-fiends. Then we'll really have a competition. :)
