Readers spend the summer with Cam as she falls in love, loses her virginity, and gains a new perspective on life while experimenting with some not so serious shoplifting. Readers will connect with Cam based on their own desires of life. They witness a young girl with limitless potential try to help those around her before she dies.
The plot follows Cam as she and her family move from Florida to Maine, in hopes of a miracle. A miracle Cam doesn't believe in. Though the real miracle is that she gets to spend this last summer as a normal teenager. The novel is incredibly moving and sad though triumphant and hopeful. Highly recommended.
