As the holidays slowly creep up on everyone, The Curto Family and Rusty Fischer bring us a story of what it means to spend Christmas with family.
One Little Christmas Tree focuses on Alfred, a young tree who cannot wait to grow up so that he can bring happiness to a family by being their Christmas tree. Throughout the story, important lessons appear between the words coupled with gorgeous illustrations.
As Alfred learns during his time at the tree farm, there is no rush to grow up. I think this lesson is important for children to know and was glad that the story introduced it early on. Children have their whole lives to become adults, why not enjoy their time as youngsters?
The story also shares that being the most majestic "tree" isn't what's truly important. It's all about how you share happiness with those around you. Especially your family. Being with a family for Christmas is Alfred's main goal as a tree. He wants to share his own happiness with others.
One Little Christmas Tree is definitely a book to read to your children this Christmas! (Or your nephew if you are like me and don't have children as of yet.) The beautiful illustrations and the story will share the Christmas spirit and a few important lessons every child should know.
